报告摘要(Abstract):
Nonlinear phenomena in media obeying parity-time (PT) symmetry, i.e. having dissipation and gain balancing each other, attract rapidly growing attention. In this seminar there will be given brief introduction to non-Hermitian models and their physical relevance, with special emphasis on the interplay of the PT symmetry and nonlinearity. The presentation includes brief introduction, devoted to the main concepts of non-Hermitian physics and its applications; overview of the results on nonlinear discrete PT-symmetric optics; and description of solitons and nonlinear modes in non-Hermitian potentials.
