报告摘要：I will present some recent works to compute general irreducible characters of the groups GL(n, q) via vertex operators. The new method enhances Green's theory of irreducible characters of the general linear groups over finite field, where the Grothendieck ring of representations are realized as two isomorphic Fock spaces associated to two infinite-dimensional equivariant Heisenberg Lie algebras. Under this picture, the irreducible characters can be computed in great generality. This is joint work with Yu Wu.
